Orange County, California
Orange County, California is best known as the home of such famed attractions as Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm, as well as more than 40 miles of coastline and popular beaches. In 1889, the growth of Southern California caused the state legislature to divide Los Angeles County and create Orange County. However, although the area is generally thought to have been named for its most famous product, the orange, the new county already had town called Orange - for Orange County, Virginia, which honored William of Orange (1650-1702), King William III of England.
