Emigrant, Montana
Emigrant, Montana gets its name because the town is at the "base of a mountain range containing Emigrant Peak, which rises to an altitude of 10,960 feet." Of course, an emigrant is someone who leaves one country to settle in another. Paradise Valley, in which Emigrant is situated, “was developed with cabins, saloons, general stores, and river crossings built by prospectors” in the 1860s who traveled here hoping to strike it rich.
