Merimbula, Australia is a coastal tourist town on the Sapphire Coast of New South Wales, Australia. Like many proper names in the area, which is known for its 9 magnificent lake and surf beaches, as well as picturesque rivers, national parks and mountain scenery, the name Merimbula is aboriginal, and literally translates to “the place of the big snake” or “the place of two waters or lakes.”
