Kruger National Park, South Africa
In 1898, Stephanus Johannes Paulus Kruger, popularly known as Paul Kruger, was the fifth President of the South African Republic and created the Sabi Sand Reserve. The Sabi Game Reserve was allocated to protect the greatly diminished number of animals in the area. In 1926, the land of the Sabi Game Reserve, Shingwedzi Game Reserve, and numerous local farms were combined to create Kruger National Park.
