San Jose del Cabo, Mexico is named after the Spanish mission San José del Cabo that was built in 1730. San Jose translates in English to Saint Joseph. In the New Testament, Saint Joseph is the husband of Mary, the mother of Jesus. Additionally, Saint Joseph is the patron saint of workers, as well as the protector of the Catholic Church.
