Chicago, Illinois
In 1833, Chicago, Illinois was first established with a population of just 350 settlers. Just four years later, the City of Chicago was officially incorporated. Interestingly enough, the name Chicago is actually the French interpretation of the Native American Miami-Illinois language's word for "wild leek", or shikaakwa.
