Kalyn Hemphill: New York City, New York
Kalyn Hemphill owned the runway during Fashion Week at New York City’s Bryant Park, thanks to the winning designs of "Project Runway" finalist Irina Shabayeva. Together, the two talented women took the "Project Runway 6" title, and Kalyn went on to ultimately win the premiere season of "Models of the Runway". The Texas-born Kalyn scored her first modeling gig at age fourteen. Before moving to New York City at eighteen, she starred in musical theatre and sang the National Anthem at Houston Astros, and Rockets games. Her hard-to-define, multiethnic look has landed her on the catwalk for the likes of well-known designers Luca Luca and Moschino. However, the runway is not the end for Kalyn, as the recent recipient of the Actors' Equity Association's prestigious Roger Sturtevant Award, Kalyn is well on her way to Broadway. Kalyn and Irina join forces once again in February’s issue of Marie Claire, which features Irina Shabayeva’s Runway Collection.
