Janet Hopkins: New York City, New York
Janet Hopkins, christened The Met Diva by her loyal following, is a celebrated mezzo-soprano with over 16 years of superb performances at the New York Metropolitan Opera. Miss Hopkins made her debut at the Metropolitan Opera during the 1991–1992 seasons in The Ghosts of Versailles, and has returned on numerous occasions to grace the Met stage, as well as having toured Japan three times with the legendary company. While in Japan the respected performer sang a series of solo recitals in Tokyo, garnering much critical acclaim. Presently, Miss Hopkins continues to thrill audiences, performing at Galas and Recitals across the United States, and beyond. Moreover, in 2007, Miss Hopkins created a CD package called ARIA, “a world class wine, personally blended by Miss Hopkins from the Tulip Hill Winery, coupled with her recording of classical Italian love songs at historic Capitol Records in Hollywood.” This innovative pairing won critical acclaim from The New York Times and USA Today and was a bona fide hit with all her fans.
