What is your favorite outdoor activity in Funchal?
Levada Walking (hiking). Queimadas Caldeirão Verde is a very special walk through one of Madeira’s oldest Levadas. Here you can admire beautiful landscapes of the valleys, small craters, waterfalls, sea and mountains.
Levadas are the small canals, irrigation system of Maderia.
The Levada Walks are the walking trails beside the Levadas.
What is your favorite indoor activity in Funchal? The Funchal Jazz Festival. Each July, this festival brings together musicians from Madeira, (a roster of) famous national/international jazz players and groups.
What is your favorite sound or noise in Funchal? The birds, “Bis Bis.”

The Eucalyptus.
