Nelson Carmichael-Skiing
"Being a Winter Olympian from freestyle skiing, I'd have to say diving, trampoline, and mountain biking are the events that I'm most looking forward to watching."
A two-time Olympian and member of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame, Nelson Carmichael was a product of the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club who joined the U.S. Ski Team right after graduating from high school. Although an excellent alpine skier Nelson made his mark in freestyle skiing eventually specializing in moguls. During his career he won 6 U.S. titles and in 1988 and 1989 won two overall World Cup titles. Altogether Carmichael had 12 World Cup wins, was on the podium, in the top three, 31 times, and earned a bronze medal at the 1992 Olympic Winter Games.
