Chris Witty-Cycling and Speedskating
"I'm looking forward to watching Clara Hughes in the women's cycling road race and time trial events. Clara is a duo-sport Olympian and one of the few athletes ever to win medals in the Winter and Summer Games. She will be competing in her 5th Olympics about 1 month before her 40th birthday. Not only is Clara breaking down age barriers but the time she has spent representing charities like Right to Play has shown her amazing character. She is a true Olympian!"
Chris Witty earned her second Olympic appearance as a speedskater at Nagano in 1998, where she was the only athlete to win two individual medals. When Chris won her gold medal in the 1000 meters at the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics, she also set a world record. Witty is also a competitive cyclist and went to represent the USA at the 2000 Sydney Summer Olympics, where she finished fifth in the 500-meter time trial. Today, now living in Amsterdam, she is the founder of Chris Witty Sports, which is primarily engaged in performance exercise testing.
